Keep a little masterpiece

Learn how Stillumi saves painting progress on your device and how to export a favorite picture to Photos when you choose.

Stillumi's lion giving a thumbs-up

There are two ways to keep a painting in Stillumi: leave it in the app to continue later, or save a separate copy to Photos. You can use either, or both.

Pick up where they left off

Stillumi saves painting progress automatically on the device. Your child can leave a picture and return to it later without exporting it first.

Paintings belong to that device. There is no Stillumi account to sign into, and progress does not move to another device through a Stillumi account. If a picture matters to your family, keeping a separate copy in Photos is a useful extra step.

Save a copy to Photos

Open the painting you want to keep and choose Save to Photos. If the device asks for permission, a grown-up can allow Stillumi to add the painting to the Photos library.

Saving to Photos is optional. You do not need to allow it to keep painting in the app.

After saving, open Photos to check the copy. From there, you can use the device’s usual options to share or keep it with other family pictures. Exporting a copy does not replace the painting progress in Stillumi.

If a picture does not save

Check the device’s Photos permission for Stillumi in Settings and try again. You can also check that the device has room to store a new image.

If you still need help, use our support form. Tell us which device you use and what happened when you selected Save to Photos. Please avoid including private family photos unless they are needed to explain the problem.

An adult can make an album in Photos for favorite paintings. A picture with two colors, a surprising choice, or a half-finished whale can all belong there.
